Ph.D., M.A., social psychology and evaluation, Northwestern University, Illinois, USA; B.A., psychology, The Johns Hopkins University, Maryland, USA.  Emeritus Professor, University of California Irvine, School of Social Ecology, Department of Policy, Planning and Design; founder and former director, Center for Community Health Research.  Author/editor of 9 books and numerous papers on evaluation.  Winner: American Evaluation Association's 2002 Outstanding Evaluation Award for the evaluation of the 9-year, 28-site Colorado Healthy Communities Initiative.  Teaching: evaluation classes at the Evaluators' Institute, the Claremont (CA) Graduate University's Evaluation and Applied Research Methods summer institute, and the Healthforum/American Hospital Association.  Past President, American Evaluation Association (AEA); Fellow, American Psychological Association and the American Psychological Society.  Past President, Board of Trustees, International Organisation for Cooperation in Evaluation; currently Senior Adviser, IOCE.  Co-program chair, AEA 2009 annual meeting.  Current research interests in community health planning, action and evaluation; current consultancies for US and international organizations and groups.
